Issue 35 of Anima Mundi magazine is now available to download. The July issue features articles about the Galapagos Archipelago, the Sri Lankan highlands, a portfolio of images from Bjorn Olesen, and a feature about diving with great hammerheads.
May issue of X-Ray Magazine available
Issue 91 of X-Ray Magazine is available to download. The May 2019 edition features articles on Timor Leste, Guadalupe, Mexico, icebergs, cave diving at Bjurälraven and Scapa Flow. Fibonacci sequences in underwater photography are investigated in the underwater Photography column, along with the impact of flash photography on fish. Lastly a portfolio of Masayo Fukuda’s stunning paper sculptures of marine life.
Seacam announces lens support for Laowa lenses
Seacam has released images of two new specific lens solution they are producing for use with Laowa lenses. Firstly, they company has produced a housing for the Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe. Secondly they have announced port support for the Laowa 15mm f/4 Wide Angle Macro.
Isotta announces housing for LX15/LX10
Isotta has announced their housing for the Panasonic LX15/LX10 compact camera. It features a flash window with the option of fiber optic triggering, an M126 port for vacuum or other accessories, along with an M67 thread on the lens port for attaching wet lenses.
Fantasea updates housing for Sony a6500
Fantasea has released version two of their housing for the Sony a6500 and a6300 mirrorless cameras. The new model has the addition of Fantasea’s Hybrid Vacuum Safety System. This is both is a pre-dive vacuum check and a during dive leak detector. In common with the previous version, it uses the FML port system, has an M16 accessory port along with two fiber optic connections.
Ikelite ships housing for the Canon EOS 250D/Rebel SL3
Ikelite is shipping their 200DLM/C housing for the Canon EOS 250D/Rebel SL3 SLR camera. It is constructed of ABS-PC and is fitted with the company’s Dry Lock Micro port system. TTL strobe triggering with compatible Ikelite strobes and a port for a vacuum system is standard.
Review: Keldan Spectrum and Ambient Filters by Massimo Franzese
Massimo Franzese (aka Interceptor121) presents an extensive review of the performance of and an outline to the theory behind Keldan’s redesigned Spectrum and Ambient light filters. The former correct the color entering the lens of the camera, while the latter corrects the output of video lights. Massimo used the filters extensively during recent trips to Tiger Beach in the Bahamas and the Mediterranean.
Think Tank Photo ships Stash Master 13L travel cube
Think Tank Photo are shipping the Stash Master 13 travel cube. Capable of carrying a gripped SLR and a few lenses, it is designed to fit inside another bag or backpack. It could be easily repurposed to keep underwater camera gear safe in a hard suitcase or similar.
