Wetpixel Live: Winning Marine and Underwater Images from WPY 2021
The 2021 Wildlife Photography of the Year Contest has just announced its results. Notable in this year’s contest is the number of underwater and marine reacted images placed in the rankings, the overall winner being an underwater image and our fellow contributor Alex’s well-deserved win of the Natural Artistry category. In this episode of Wetpixel Live, he and Adam discuss all the marine and underwater-related winners.

2021 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Results Livestream
The 2021 Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest is announcing its results live in an online ceremony from the Natural History Museum, London. Congratulations to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Underwater Category Winner, Lauren Ballesta with his picture of spawning grouper from Fakarava, French Polynesia, and to Natural Artistry Category Winner, Alex Mustard.
Easydive Ships LeoR Universal Housing
Easydive are shipping their new LeoR universal camera housing. It offers camera control via USB, WiFi, IR or Bluetooth and is now compatible with many SLR and mirrorless cameras, along with the BlackMagic Pocket camera. Other features include an integrated OLED display and an Android App that allow the housing to be configured as required. Dual SDI out is available as are two external battery packs.

Live Report: CMAS World Underwater Photo and Video Championships
Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon is in Porto Santo, Portugal reporting live from the 2021 CMAS World Underwater Photo and Video Championships. The event has attracted 48 teams from 18 countries to compete in a live shootout or “photosub” style imaging contest, which carries prestigious national awards for the winning teams, and (perhaps brief!) fame for the winning individuals. The contest runs from Monday 4, through to Sunday 10 October and Adam will be posting daily updates from it, so please keep checking back to find out all this is going on!
Fisheye Acquires Sea&Sea
Fisheye has announced that it has acquired the ownership of the underwater imaging brand Sea&Sea. Fisheye’s Director, Kenji Omura, has issued a statement that the new company will utilise its nearly 50 year heritage and pedigree to develop new products in the future. The Wetpixel community wishes Kenji and the teams from Fisheye and Sea&Sea the very best in these endeavours and we are excited to watch for future new products.
