Underwater imaging product suppliers and manufacturers gather to unveil their new products and the a large proportion of the underwater imaging community is also present. As always, Abi and Adam will be on hand over the next 4 days to gather together the people, products and events at the show and report them back to those of you that cannot make it! Issue 87 of UwP magazine available

Issue 87 of Underwater Photography (UwP) magazine is available to download. The November/December 2015 issue features reviews of the Nauticam WWL-1 lens, the Canon 5DSr camera and the YS-D2 strobe. Featured marine life includes spawning aggregations, exploration and shortfin mako sharks (Isurus oxyrinchus). Destinations include Wakatobi, God’s Pocket and the UK’s South West.

UPY 2016 opens for entries Photo

UPY 2016 opens for entries

The 2016 Underwater Photographer of the Year (UPY) contest is now open for entries. It is soliciting entries for 5 international categories, which include: Wide Angle, Macro, Wrecks, Behavior, Up & Coming. In addition, there are 3 categories for images shot in the UK: British Waters Wide Angle, Macro and Compacts. The deadline for entries is 4 January, with the winers being announced on stage at the London Dive Show on 12 February.

Annual imaging party at DEMA 2015

Planning on attending DEMA in Orlando this year? If so, do not miss the Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide annual imaging party. This year, it will be held from 8PM on Wednesday 4 November, on the poolside at the Rosen Center. Typically, the party attracts a huge crowd, encompassing a virtual who’s who of underwater image makers. If you sadly can’t be there, remember that whatever happens at DEMA….will be reported on Wetpixel!
