Final Call: Wildscreen Panda Awards 2020
Wildscreen is making a last call for entries to their 2020 Panda Awards and the Official Selection of the Wildscreen Festival. Although primarily a film festival, the is also a prize for “outstanding storytelling through a series of six still images.” The festival is scheduled for 19 to 23 October in Bristol, UK.
Inon announces M52 lens caddies
Inon is about to ship a series of M52 lens caddies for the M52 threaded version of the newly announced UWL-95 wide conversion lens. There is a version available to fit on buoyancy arms as well versions offering single and double mounts on standard Inon arms.
Inon announces UWL-95 wide angle conversion lens
Inon has announced a new accessory wide angle lens specifically designed for compact cameras with 24mm lenses. The UWL-95 is available with M52 or M67 threads and offers a 95° field of view underwater. Both versions can be used with the new Dome Lens Units, which are available in acrylic or glass and offer a field of view of 141° underwater.
Divexperience Online offers virtual dive event
On 25 April, DuikeninBeeld and the Dutch Diveshow, Duikvaker are organizing an online dive event with presentations from all over the world. Many will be in Dutch, but some are in English. The live stream will be streamed via the Facebook pages of DuikeninBeeld, Duikvaker, and DiveXperience and on the event’s website too.
Call for entries: Pictures of your Life Contest
The World Shootout has announced its “Pictures of your Life” contest. Its categories include Amateurs, Wide Angle, Macro, UW Fashion, Black Water, Video Clip, Humoristic Image, Environment and Conservation, Wrecks, and Sharks. It is free to enter and the deadline for submissions is 1 June.
Canon releases details of EOS R5 video performance
Canon has released details of the upcoming EOS R5 mirrorless camera. Among these are no-crop 8K 30p RAW recording to internal memory cards, 5-axis in-body image stabilization, 4K/120p internal recoding and Dual Pixel AF in 4 and 8K recording modes. No release dates or pricing details have been announced yet.
Canon announces C200 Mark III
Canon has announced the C300 Mark III digital cinema camera. Its Super 35mm sensor offers 4K with Dual Gain Output. This prioritizes saturation in the highlights and suppresses noise in the shadows. It is capable of recording Cinema RAW Light recording to internal CFexpress card. Both EF and PL mount lenses can be used with suitable mounting kits.
