POTW entries must be digital-only

We accidentally awarded last week's POTW #33 prize to an image taken with a film camera, which had been submitted with the rest of the bunch.

The POTW rules clearly state that POTW entries must have been taken with a housed digital camera. Please read the rules carefully before you submit an image!

For a contest that accepts both digital and film-based images, check out our Official Photo Contest. The current contest is in the middle of judging, but a new one will be available for participation very soon!

Asian Dive Expo

This year marks the 10 th anniversary of the Asian Dive Expo, otherwise known as ADEX . The Asian diving community came to Singapore in droves and is alive and well after fighting the negative perceptions of SARS, terrorism and chicken flu.

Mod Light and Video Housing from LMI

Light and Motion have released a new compact video housing called the Stingray III for the latest Sony MiniDV cameras HC20, HC30 and HC40. Nearly half the size of the original Stingray the new super compact Stingray III offers all of the same features of the full size model.

Other good news is that the popular Mod Light is back and improved. The Sunray Mod is powered by a rechargeable, memory free, high capacity, lithium ion battery. Burn times range from 50 minutes on the high setting to 90 minutes on low. Additionally, there is a conveniently located LED on the back of the light that informs the user of output levels, low battery warning and charging status.
