Issue 103 of UwP magazine is available
Issue 103 of Underwater Photography Magazine (UwP) is now available. It features reviews of the Sealife DC2000, the UWCamerastore Dual snoot, the Sony A7RIII and Iklelite housing and the Nauticam WACP on Sony cameras. The Shootout is featured along with the Islands of Fire, Yap and Palau and Manta Rays.
$158 million addition all about Sharks opens in New York Aquarium
A new exhibit at the New York Aquarium opened this past weekend, and it is all about sharks. The 57,000 square foot and $158 million addition is called Ocean Wonders: Sharks! The addition comes as much the aquarium is still rebuilding from being hit by hurricane Sandy. The new addition of the aquarium, which is run by the Wildlife Conservation Society, has been in the works for the past 14 years. The goal of the addition was to educate visitors about the vital role sharks play in our oceans.
Late Availability: Mexico Whale Sharks August 2018
We have a few spaces available on the 2018 Wetpixel Whale Sharks trip. It is running from 10 to 16 August and we will be based in comfortable accommodation at the Playa la Media Lune hotel on Isla Mujeres. Unlike most trips that run to see the sharks, our skippers are full time professional charter boat captains that spend the bulk of their time at seas looking for fish. We also tend to leave early and stay late, allowing us to maximize the crucial times when the sharks are relatively undisturbed by other parties.
Inon ships D mount adapter
Inon has released an adaptor plate that allows their D holder arm and base system with their new underwater tripod system. It is equipped with two 1/4in tripod holes that allows it to be securely attached.
Dates for 2018 Monterey Shootout announced
The 2018 Monterey Shootout will be held from 9 to 12 August. Hosted by the Northern California Underwater Photography Society and Backscatter, the event features the competition with seminars and classes running alongside. The infamous shootout cocktail party will be held on the evening of 12 August.
Issue 09 of Heinz Magazine is available
Issue 09 of Heinz Magazine is now available. It features articles and imagery about Mexico by Reinhard and Daniela Dirscherl, underwater rugby by Konstantin Killer, Stephen Frink’s digital photography school and a portfolio of “Ocean Anime” images by Wang Tian Hong.
