Avid announces free Media Composer | First video editing solution
Avid has announced that they plan to release a free new fully featured video editing tool called Media Composer | First. It will allow for up to four video and eight audio tracks, will output full HD video and apply effects to clips. In addition, it integrates directly into Avid’s MediaCentral® Platform and allows content to be shared via popular video sharing sites.
Video: Watch as orcas feed on gray whale carcass in Monterey
Earth Touch news has featured video from the Monterey Bay Whale Watch that features what is thought to be the first footage of its kind of transient orcas feeding on the carcass of a gray whale. The whale watching boat first spotted the orcas on April 20th and then sent the drone up to get a better perspective of the rare feeding behavior. “Over 35 hours and [they were] still feeding as we left!” the team stated.
Team Captains announced for The Shootout 2018
The Shootout has announced the team captains for the inter resort shootout that is being held at Gulen Dive Resort, Norway and Lembeh Resort, Indonesia. Wetpixel Associate Editor and well known underwater photographer Alex Mustard will head the Lembeh team, while another big hitter in underwater photography world, Keri Wilk will lead the Gulen contingent. Among a slew of new products and updates, Blackmagic Design has announced that a beta of Resolve 14 is now available. The new version of their video editing app integrates Fairlight audio tools along with performance improvements and new features for collaborative editing.
Keldan announces updated high CRI version of 8X video light
Keldan has announced an updated version of their high color rendering index (CRI) 8X video light. It offers 11,000 lumen output with a CRI of 92. Control is via 9 output steps, with a burn time of 45 minutes at full power. Beam angle is 90°, with a gradual edge fall off and color temperature is 5400°K
TRT Electronics announces TTL triggers
TRT Electronics has announced two new products. The TURTLE XS is a miniaturized version of the i-TURTLE Nikon version. It also offers the ability to select Manual or TTL modes via the camera’s backlight switch. The other new product is the s-TURTLE TTL converter for Sony mirrorless cameras.
China’s largest airline bans shark fin cargo
China’s largest airline says it is taking a stand for animal conservation. China Southern Airlines will no longer transport shark fin as cargo in the company’s efforts to support conservation efforts.
