Wetpixel/DivePhotoGuide Imaging Party 2014
Wetpixel and DivePhotoGuide are proud to announce their annual imaging party at the DEMA show 2014. We will be partying in the Westgate (DEMA host) hotel’s pool area on Thursday 20 November from 8.00 till late. Invitations are not required, but Matt, Joe and Adam will be around the Imaging Resource Center during the show, and will be handing out flyers. Come over, say hi and get directions if you need them!
Nauticam announces the NA-D750 housing
Nauticam has announced their housing for the Nikon D750. The NA-D750 incorporates all the standard Nauticam features, including port lock, lever access to AF-ON, ISO, image review and record as well as access to the Fn and Preview buttons and a small lever for accessing the info button.
nju system announces new housings
Inventor and company owner Andrej Belic introduces his nju system housings. These are entirely electronically controlled via proprietary software, which offers a wide range of compatibility and the two models his company offers can be used with Canon, Nikon, Sony and Panasonic cameras. The housings also support al strobes an use a monitor back to show the camera’s Liveview information to the user, rather than a viewfinder.
Video: Wreckage-An Enemy is Born
Water Born TV has posted episode one of its new series exploring “some of the world’s most unique underwater environments” onto YouTube. The first part is called Wreckage: An Enemy is Born, and involves a freediving chase and fight sequence around a wreck in the Bahamas.
Report: Marseille show 2014
The 2014 Festival Mondial de l’image Sous-Marin was held in Marseille from 30 October to 2 November. Wetpixel was fortunate to have their “roving reporter” Ellen Cuylaerts attend the show and she has kindly written a personal report of the show. Darren Rice of Matafonua Lodge in Tonga has recently produced some impressive underwater and aerial footage of the Humpback Whales that visit the islands. The footage can only be described as spectacular and we caught up with him for an interview.
Amazon announces free unlimited photo storage for prime members
Amazon just announced today that prime members will have free unlimited photo storage on Amazon Cloud Drive. The new service is called Prime Photos and will allow users to store original resolution photos from any device including Mac computers, Windows PCs, and iOS, Android and Fire phones and tablets.
Ikelite announces housing for Nikon D750
Ikelite has announced their housing for the Nikon D750 SLR camera. Manufactured from the company’s trademark clear acrylic, it features TTL strobe triggering (with compatible strobes) and flash output adjustment via a control on the rear of the housing.
