Ikelite Ships Housing for Nikon Z5
Ikelite is shipping their trademark ABS housing for the Nikon Z5 mirrorless camera. It ships with a manual strobe trigger and a vacuum bulkhead. It uses Ikelite’s 200DL port system.
MonsterAdapter Announces Nikon to Sony Adapter
MonsterAdapter has announced their LA-FE1 adapter that provides electronic AF and aperture support with Nikon AF-I, AF-S, and AF-P lenses on newer Sony Alpha series E mount cameras. The adaptor does not support AF with screw-drive lenses (like the Tokina 10-17mm or converted Nikonos RS 13mm) but does work with teleconverters.

Study Predicts Huge Growth in Underwater Camera Sales
A study by market researcher Fior Markets has predicted that the underwater camera market will grow from a value of $4.8 billion in 2019 to $15.3 billion by 2017. They identify a growing use of underwater cameras in media and entertainment, camera rental services, growth in underwater sports, and underwater photography’s growth on social media feeds. Cost is listed as the primary impediment to growth.
Results: UPY 2021
The results of the 2021 Underwater Photographer of the Year (UPY) contest have been announced. Wetpixel extends hearty congratulations to all those among the competition’s placings. Renee Capozzola’s stunning image of sharks, birds, and the sunset from French Polynesia was awarded as the overall winner. Mark Strickland’s innovative image of a frog in a wetland close to Glasgow was declared as the British winner.
