Australian team develops heat resistant corals
Australian scientists have produced a coral that is heat resistant. By extracting microalgae from coral polys and then exposing it to increasing temperatures over a period of four years, the team has manager to accelerate the evolutionary response. Once the microalgae was reintroduced into coral larvae, it was found that coarse were more heat resistant.

Seacam announces housing for Black Magic Pocket Cinema Cameras
Seacam has announced, their cinema film housing for the Blackmagic Design Pocket 4 and 6K cameras. The new housing has internal space for a battery pack and an external SSD. It also has port and bulkhead options to allow for an HDMI 2.0 output and is compatible with Seacam’s standard lens port range.
Sony extends PRO Support memberships
PetaPixel has reported that, in a gesture of support for its creative community, Sony USA and Canada have extended PRO support memberships for an additional 6 months free of charge. The announcement was sent via email to PRO Support customers, and the membership extension has already been applied to accounts. Petapixel notes that the extension is very welcome as many pros have not been able to take advantage of their existing memberships due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Underwater photographer Tobias Friedrich has released two sets of Lightroom presets, tailored explicitly for underwater images. Catering for either wide angle or macro images, each set has seven modules, designed to help photographers achieve great photos as quickly as possible.
Aquatica revises pricing strategy
Aquatica has announced a series of staggered discounts on its products. Between now and 31 July, products bought from Aquatica or via its dealers will attract a 20% discount, from 1 August through 31 October, 15%, and from 1 November through 30 April 2021, 10%.
