Wetpixel Live: Nauticam Viewfinder Review
Alex has been able to try out Nauticam’s new 45° magnified viewfinders. These are available in two models, one specifically designed to cope with the wider exit pupils on (especially Sony) mirrorless cameras’ EVFs. In a discussion with Adam, they chat about magnified viewfinders in general, and then specifically Alex’s experiences with the new models. He concludes with a surprising finding as to which is his favorite!
Wetpixel Live: Intro to Nauticam Optics
In this episode of Wetpixel Live, Adam chats to Nauticam owner, Edward Lai about the history and his philosophy behind Nauticam’s development of a range of water contact optics, specifically designed for underwater image makers. He explains why in some circumstances, these optics can improve image quality, particularly in low light, and gives a very interesting take on the issue of distortion.
Wetpixel Red Sea Imaging Safari 2023
Seeking shipmates for an amazing adventure capturing underwater imagery in Egypt’s exotic Red Sea. Wetpixel is running a further two trips aboard the lovely VIP ONE on 03 to 10 September and then 10 to 17 September 2023. As is always the case, we will tailor the itinerary and boat’s activities around making both trips photographically productive.

Diventures Magazine is calling for entries to its 2022 Underwater Art (UWART) Photo Contest. It offers categories for Wide Angle, Behavior, Wreck, Compact Camera, Macro, and Art images. The deadline for entries is 3 October.
Issue 128 of UwP Magazine is Available
Issue 128 of Underwater Photography Magazine (UwP) is available to download. It features a report of the Digital Shootout and reviews of the Olympus OM-1, Marelux’s SOFT and 140mm dome and a Smartphone monitor. Techniques covered include snoot techniques and black backgrounds, while Cancun’s whale sharks and weedy sea dragons are also discussed in articles.
Wetpixel Live: Underwater Panorama
The increased availability of panorama stitching software within existing photo editing packages has added a tool to the underwater image maker’s arsenal. Alex and Adam discuss some creative ideas about how to take advantage of these new capabilities and offer some practical tips to help photographers.
