Coronavirus: Travel Updates
The coronavirus outbreak in China has started to affect travel. On Thursday, the Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority suspended all online visas, on-arrival visas, and flights from Asia. This was subsequently reversed today, barring individuals that have visited Wuhan Province. we have started a thread on the Wetpixel forum and encourage people to post their experienced and findings as the situation changes and develops.
Field Review: Think Tank Stash Master 13
Wetpixel presents a review of the Think Tank Photo Stash Master 13. This travel cube is a water-resistant padded container with adjustable internal dividers that can provide protection to underwater imaging equipment when it is placed inside a dive bag or suitcase. This adds flexibility and additional options in avoiding airline baggage limits.
Retra ships Prime and Pro Flashes
Retra is shipping their Retra Flash. Available in two versions, the Pro offers 150 Ws while the Prime has 100Ws. Both have circular flash tubes and a color temperature of 4900°K. Triggering is via fiber optic only, although Retra offers an external electro-optical converter.

Major Announcement: Lembeh vs Anilao Shootout in December 2020
Wetpixel is proud to announce the underwater photography event of 2020! From 8 to 15 December, four teams are going head to head in the world’s toe heavyweight macro destinations. In Lembeh, there will be a team at NAD and Solitude Lembeh Resort. In Anilao, there will be teams at Aiyanar Beach and Solitude Acacia Resort. The resorts are recruiting for their teams now, so please reach out to be a part of this amazing event.
Research discovers four new species of walking sharks
A paper published in the Marine and Freshwater Research journal has identified four new species of walking sharks. The 12-year study has used DNA analysis and surmises that the new species evolved due to being isolated from their original populations.

he Golden Turtle International Festival is calling for entries to its 2020 contest. It is offering 13 categories for its Photo contest, along with 2 in Art and 2 in Eco-Posters. The contest is free to enter and the deadline for entries is 29 February.
