The much anticipated Discovery Shark Week is now in full swing. After months of hype about the race between Olympian Michael Phelps and a great white shark, the race aired last night in the United States. Spoiler alert, Phelps did not in fact race a great white shark. Researchers took the average speed of a great white shark and Michael Phelps raced a cgi version of it. Of course for many reasons the race was logistically implausible to begin with, but regardless the Internet was not happy.

Anglerfish Creative Lighting has announced version 2 of their optical remote strobe trigger. Trigger version 2 is lighter, smaller and has a sensor that has a wider field of view. Features carried over from version 1 include optical and electrical sync cable options and a built in rechargeable battery. It has a depth limit of 100 m (330 ft.).

The app is an “organizer, player, and workflow assistant for video that is highly optimized to get tens of thousands of videos organized and ready for editing.” It is available for Mac via direct download or from the Apple Store as a full or an LT version. It is compatible with most video formats and allows for sorting footage via numerous criteria.
