Report: Go Diving Show 2019
The Underwater Photographer of the Year 2019 contests’ results will be announced live on stage at the Go Diving Show in Coventry, UK Sunday on 24 February at 3.30pm. All 48 of the finalists’ images are also on show at the event.
TRT-Electronics ships TURTLE SMART TTL converter
TRT-Electronics are shipping two new versions of their TURTLE TTL converter. The TURTLE SMART mounts on the camera’s hotshoe are available for Nikon, Canon, Olympus/Panasonic, and Sony versions and are user programmable for different camera models. The TURTLE Mobie has the same features, but is smaller and can be mounted anywhere in the housing.

NiMAR ships LED flash trigger
NiMAR are shipping their new LED sync flash trigger. It offers optical triggering of strobes in manual mode (Exposure controlled by varying strobe output.) It offers faster recycle times and reduces battery use than triggering via cameras’ built-in flashes.
The Underwater Tour announces line-up and dates
The Underwater Tour has announced its line-up, dates, and venues for its 2019 lecture series. Speakers David Doubilet, Jennifer Hayes and William Tan will present in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth between 9 to 14 May 2019.
Ikelite ships dome port for compact housings
Ikelite is shipping their DC4 6-inch dome port suitable for use with their compact camera housings. Constructed of acrylic, the dome replaces the standard flat port and allows for the full FOV of the camera’s lens. As it avoids the “double water line” that is created with wet lenses, it is suitable for creating over-under images.
UW Technics ships TTL converter for Olympus cameras
UW Technics are shipping a TTL and optical converter board for Olympus cameras. It is compatible with all newer Olympus mirrorless cameras in Nautica housings and Inon, Sea&Sea, Subtronic, and Ikelite strobes. It is available for self-installation and provides two optical and one electrical TTL output.
