Call for Entries: European Underwater Photography and Video Championship
CMAS, in conjunction with local diving and tourism associations, has announced that the European Underwater Photography and Video Championship will be held from 3 to 8 October in Madeira, Portugal. The event is soliciting entries formational teams. Full rules are available (pdf download). Wetpixel plans to attend and keep the community informed about all the twists and turns of the contest.

The Photo Society is hosting a webinar with David Doubilet and Jennifer Hayes on 5 April at 12:00 PM EST. After they present their images, there will be the opportunity for a moderated question and answer session.

Alex and Adam discuss their computer hardware and which software they use for processing and curating their image libraries. At one time, processing digital images was a resource-intensive process, which necessitated top-end and sometimes bespoke computer power. The general improvement in computer performance and power means that this is largely no longer the case.
Seacam Ships Ninja V Housing
Seacam are shipping their housing for the Atomos Ninja V and V+ recorder/monitors. Rated to 80 meters (260 ft.), it has HDMI in and can accommodate batteries up to NP-F970 size. It can be optionally equipped with an angled plug, second HDMI, or vacuum system.
USPS Issues Stamp Celebrating Eugenie Clark
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced the release of a “Forever Stamp” celebrating the life of Eugenie Clark. The stamp features an image by David Doubilet. There will be a first day of issue event at the Mote Marine Laboratory, Florida on 4 May 2022.
Seacam Ships Housing for Nikon Z6 II and Z7II
Seacam is shipping their Silver housing for the Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II mirrorless cameras. It offers compatibility with or without the FTZ adapter and Seacam’s port system. It can be equipped with S6 flash sync sockets, HDMI out, or a vacuum.
Hands on: Nikon Z9
Nikon UK hosts an annual series of events for members of the Nikon Pro Services, and Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon attended one in Manchester. This allowed him to get hands-on with the Nikon Z9 and, in this case, the new Z 105mm micro lens. He provides some thoughts about the new flagship Nikon mirrorless camera and what advantages it may offer for underwater image-makers.
Ikelite Ships 200DL Housing for Panasonic GH6
Ikelite is shipping their 200DL housing for the Panasonic LUMIX GH6 camera. Constructed from the company’s signature ABS-PC acrylic, it has the option of an M24 port for HDMI 2.0 out, along with an M16 accessory port. The housing uses Ikelite’s DL port system.
