Wetpixel Live: Retra Pro X Flash review
During the recent Wetpixel Red Sea Photographic Odyssey, Adam was able to use and test the Retra Pro X flash guns. Retra kindly loaned both the strobes and a set of accessories for them and they were used by Adam continuously over the two-week trip. In this episode Adam provides some insights into what he liked about the flashes and lists some improvements and ideas for getting the best from them in the field.
Book Now: 2023 Wetpixel/Under the Jungle Cenote Photography Workshops
We are super excited to let everyone know that the dates for our two 2023 Wetpixel/Under the Jungle Cenote Photography Workshops are 7 to 14 and then 21 to 28 May. These are both intensive learning sessions deliberately focused on producing and improving imagery in this amazing, beautiful and unique environment. They will be based in luxury accommodation near Puerto Aventuras, with daily sessions with Tom St George, Natalie Gibb and Adam Hanlon.
Adobe Updates Lightroom and Photoshop
Adobe has released significant updates to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. The chief update of interest is the new ability to copy and paste AI driven masks from one image to others, and to invert an entire mask group. The latter was previously relatively complicated and the update simplifies this significantly.
Canon Announces APS-C R Series Cameras
Canon has announced two new APS-C mirrorless cameras. The EOS R7 has a 32MP sensor, dual memory card slots and records full width 4K at 60p. The EOS R10 has a 24MP sensor. Both have the same SF system as the EOS R3 and in body image stabilization.
Wetpixel Live: Keldan 8XR and RTC1 review with Natalie Gibb
Adam joins cave explorer and underwater image maker Natalie Gibb in the jungle for this episode of Wetpixel Live. Natalie has been testing the new Keldan 8XR lights and the RC1 ultrasonic remote control and they discuss how the combination has performed, and the creative opportunities that having true remote control of off-camera lights offers.
Results: UN World Oceans Day Photo Contest
The 2022 United Nations World Oceans Day Photo Competition has announced its results. It explored the six thematic categories linked to the overarching 2022 World Oceans day theme: “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.” The categories were : Above Water Seascapes, Underwater Seascapes, Revitalization, Coastal Communities, Ocean Critters, and Nature-Based Solutions & Ocean Exploration.
World Oceans Day 2022
The 2022 United Nations World Oceans Day is today, 8 June! While everyday should be a day for the oceans, the UN has a series of live events scheduled, around the theme of “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean” that aim to focus attention on the plight of the oceans and illustrate how governments, businesses, organizations and individuals can play a part in protecting the oceans.These commence at 10AM EDT, and include the announcement of the results of the 2022 World Oceans Day Imaging contest at 11.30 PDT.
Late Availability: Wetpixel Red Sea
Due to a change in their personal circumstances, we have had late cancellations from 3 people that were planning to attend both Wetpixel Red Sea Photo Odysseys. As the first of these starts on 22 May, they have suggested that they would be amenable to offering their spaces at a reduced rate in order to recoup some of their expenses.
